Colin Adams
Partner, Chief Operating Officer, General Counsel
Colin is a Partner and the Chief Operating Officer at Uzzi & Lall. He has been a C-suite leader for six businesses that were successfully stabilized, has served on ten boards as an independent director, and has advised management teams, boards, and various other stakeholders for more than 30 companies experiencing some form of financial or operational dislocation or stress. As an advisor, investor, or attorney, Colin has been involved in several of the largest and most complex chapter 11 cases in U.S. history, including American Airlines, Lernout & Hauspie, Sears, Tronox, TXU, and WorldCom.
Before joining Uzzi & Lall, Colin was a partner at Ducera Partners, a boutique investment bank focused on restructuring, M&A, and private capital. Colin began his career in corporate law, becoming a partner at Kirkland & Ellis LLP in 2007. In 2011, after working with Keshav and Chris at Citadel, Colin joined Morgan Stanley where he built and led a special situations direct investment business. In 2017, Colin became a Senior Managing Director at a premier boutique financial advisory firm, where he reunited with Keshav.
Colin was awarded an A.B. in Economics and History from Duke University in 1996 and a J.D. and Certificate in Business Law from the UCLA School of Law in 1999.
